April is Alcohol Awareness Month, and the reality is clear: about 1 in 5 teens report drinking alcohol before age 18—putting them at greater risk for addiction, poor decision-making, and long-term health impacts.
Hegira Health Sr. Director of SUD Services Salvatore Russo joined Jay Scott Smith and Priya Mann in the WDIV Local 4 / ClickOnDetroit studios this morning to give guidance to families on how they can take action with simple, effective strategies: start conversations early, be clear about real risks, set expectations, stay involved, and model healthy behavior.
Hegira Health is here to support every step of the way, offering prevention education, early intervention, and behavioral health services to help teens and families navigate these challenges before they escalate.
